King named alternate for NFHCA Senior Game

GENEVA, N.Y. – University of Mount Olive senior forward Railyn King has been named an alternate for the 2022 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Senior Game, announced by the organization.

The NFHCA Senior Game is an annual event organized by the NFHCA and will take place on conjunction with the NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship. The contest will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 at Renton Memorial Stadium in Renton, Wash., starting at 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Both NCAA Division II regions are represented on the list of 2022 honorees. The selected student-athletes were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches and were chosen based on their career accomplishments. The selected seniors are given the opportunity to represent their institution while competing against their peers. Alternates will take the spot of student-athletes who have been selected as participants but are unable to compete in the Division II Senior Game.

King has been a member of the field hockey program since the beginning of the program in 2019. A native of Hollister, Calif., she has played in 47 career matches with 35 starts with 10 points on five goals in her career. This season, King has scored a pair of goals, as the Trojans are having the best season in team history and are currently nationally ranked after winning 10-straight games. She is the first player in program history to be recognized for the NFHCA Senior Game.
